Bad day

This did not glue ok. I just posted this pic to have an illusion that I achived something today. I pretty much screwed up everything I tried to do. Ink on Japanese paper, ca. 110 x 118 cm.

Tämän liimaus ei onnistunut. Laitoin kuvan vain luullakseni saaneeni jotain aikaan. Munasin kaikessa mitä yritin. Muste japaninpaperille, n 110 x 118 cm.

Problems of reproduction

Here's the succesful gluing result in different lightning conditions. Reproducing these pieces is always quite hard. Tomorrow I'll pohoto another piece that I glued today...I hope. The glue was a bit too thin so I might have to glue some areas again.

Tässäpä onnistunut teos(liimaus) eri valaistusolosuhteissa. Näiden teosten valokuvaus on aina vähän haasteellista. Huomenna valokuvaan toivottavasti työn jonka liimasin tänään. Liima oli vähän laihaa ja saatan päästä paikkailemaan kupruja.

Yesterdays results

Did 81 cm of this painting seen above. Black ink on black paper. Size of paper ca. 110 x 110 cm.

Tein ylhäällä näkyvää työtä 81 cm. Musta muste mustalle paperille. Paperin koko n. 110 x 110 cm.

9.57 to 15.03

The upper work is waiting to be glued. Ca. 112 x 109 cm, ink on Japanese paper. The gluing that I waited fearfully succeeded partly and I took the paper of from the board. I'll make a similar new work tomorrow. The black paper gets bigger from the original 110 x 110 cm size when wet and remains so, so I'll make the next painting a bit smaller for it to fit a 110 x 110 cm board exactly. Elementry my dear Watson. I will also stain less with the glue - it leaves marks on the wrong side. The second picture is the work in question and it has been taken from a low angle and edited to a rectangle with Photoshop.

Ylempi teos odottaa liimausta. N. 112 x 109 cm, muste japaninpaperille. Pelätty liimaus onnistui melko mukavasti, mutta otin teoksen kumminkin irti levyltä. Huomenna teen uuden, josta tulee vähän levyä pienempi, koska märkä paperi kastuu liimauksessa ja laajenee, ja jää turvonneeseen mittaansa. Elementry my dear Watson. Sottaan myös vähemmän liimalla kuvapuolella. Jättää nimittäin tummia tahrakohtia jostain syystä.

I'm on a working streak

Results of today. Upper two pics are the same work, the lighter pic is just the original from reverse side. So it's just the bleed throughs showing. I like it more than the intented work. Notice that this is still an incoplete work. Measures: ca. 73 x 110 cm, ink on Japanese paper. Wider painting is the one made yesterday (titled '16 lines') and glued together today. Measures: ca. 138 x 164 cm, ink on Japanese paper. I glued a 110 x 110 cm work (black ink on black paper) on a piece of 3 mm mdf just as I left the studio. I dreadfully wait tomorrow so I'll see how it went. Shall the board bent a lot?

Tämän päivän tuloksia. Kaksi ylintä kuvaa ovat samasta työstä, mutta vaaleampi on alkuperäisen teoksen takapuoli. Tässä näkee kuinka muste läpäisee ohuen paperin. Vaaleampi on ehkä parempi. Mitat: n. 73 x 110 cm, muste japaninpaperille. Huomatkaa että teos on vielä kesken. Leveämpi maalaus on '16 lines', jonka tein eilen ja liimasin kasaan tänään. Mitat: n. 138 x 164 cm, muste japaninpaperille. Liimasin työhuoneelta lähtiessäni yhden 110 x 110 cm työn (musta muste mustalle paperille) 3 mm mdf -levylle. Kauhulla odotan huomista ja liimauksen kuivimista: vetääkö käppyrälle?

Work, work....work

I glued the big work shown in yesterdays post and did the first part of a possible painting. Ink on Japanese paper. Size ca. 28 x 110 cm.

Liimasin eilisen postauksen ison työn kasaan ja tein ensimmäisen osan mahdollisesti valmistuvasta maalauksesta. Muste japaninpaperille. Koko n. 28 x 110 cm.
