Paluu/Retur(n)

Viikonloppuna näin erinomaisen näyttelyn (Eco Art) Porin taidemuseossa. Erityisesti mieleen jäi Fred Sandback, jolla oli museossa oma kokonaisuus. Haluaisin muuten olla ympäristötaiteilija. Aikeenani on ollut kehittyä siihen suuntaan jo pitkään. Maalaus on tylsää ja raikas ulkoilma pitää ihmisen terveenä, ainakin Satakunnan Kansan sunnuntailiitteen mukaan. Jospa tänä kesänä saisin toteutettua yhden ympäristöteosideani metsään. Tällä viikolla yritän kumminkin vaivihkaista paluuta työhuoneelle.

This weekend I had the chance to see a really good exhibition (Eco Art) at the Pori Museum of Art. I especially liked the installations and drawings of Fred Sandback who had a solo show next to Eco Art. I would like to be an environmental artist. I've had this craving for a long time. Painting is boring and outdoors living is good for a human being, at least according to Satakunnan Kansa newspaper. Maybe this summer I could realize one of my environmental art ideas. But this week I shall try to return to my studio first.

Ruotsiin/To Sweden

Menen Ruotsiin Zen-temppeliin kuun loppuun asti. Bloggaan näkymiä Finnåkerista, ajattelin nääs valokuvata. Vapaa-aikaa on hulppeat kaksi tuntia päivässä. Sunnuntaisin saamme katsoa televisiota. I'm going to Sweden to a Zen temple until the end of the month. I'll blog scenerys from Finnåker. I have a plan to photo. We've got two hours of spare time each day. On sundays we may watch tv. The image is of a zendo monitor holding a kyosaku (a stick used to hit sitters on their backs). More info at www.zentraining.org

Sellanen juttu, että ensimmäiset viisi riviä ovat 9 cm leveitä ja loput 11 cm. Jossain vaiheessa sekosin laskuissa, mutta ei se ehkä haittaa. Eri päivinä tehdyt osat erottuvat turhan selkeästi. 4-5 tuntia työhuoneella on aikalailla maksimi minulle. Työn intensiteetti on ihan erilaista kuin palkkatöissä.

The first five rows are 9 cm and the rest 11 cm wide. My mistake. But it might not matter. Parts of the painting made on different days jump out too much. Four to five hours at the studio are enough for me. Working there is more intense compared to normal "paid jobs".

Getting it on

Tässä osa siitä mitä tänään tein. Guassia paperille. Noin 50 cm leveä. Lopullinen koko tulee olemaan 110 x 110 cm.

Here's a part of what I did today. Gouache on paper. Ca. 50 cm wide. The final work might measure 110 x 110 cm.
